Ryan Pace Dancing in “Club Dub” This Year? Over His Dead Body

-

The Chicago Bears were one of the toasts of the NFL last year. Not only because they were one of its better teams with a 12-4 record and a division title. They also gained notoriety for their creativity at celebrating. Nothing drew national attention more than their now famous “Club Dub.” A happy ritual in which the team would turn the locker room into a night club every time they achieved victory. Something Ryan Pace loved seeing.

The Bears GM was thrilled that his young team got to celebrate in such a fashion 12 times last year. Never more than when they defeated the Green Bay Packers to lock up the NFC North. One can imagine that was a victory that could get even the older folk to get up and dance. Even owner and chairman George McCaskey stated he would participate in Club Dub if the Bears win the Super Bowl.

So what about the architect of the entire thing in Pace himself? He’s only 42-years old and in good physical condition. One would think he’d have no issue with that idea. Turns out he has a big issue with it as he told Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic.

“Has your wife or daughter suggested you hop into “Club Dub” at some point?

They know I can’t dance. I think my wife would be mortified if I tried to do that. I stay on the perimeter.

George (McCaskey) said he would join at the right time, like for a Super Bowl.

The problem with that is if you do that and it’s captured, that’s on the internet forever.”

It seems Pace suffers from a severe case of stage fright. It’s hard to blame him for that. He’s a straight-laced middle-aged man from Texas. Dancing to hip-hop doesn’t sound like something he would be great at, even with so many players and coaches to help him. It sounds like alcohol may have to get involved if such an event were to occur.

Subscribe to the BFR Youtube channel and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.

Maybe winning a Super Bowl will help him loosen up. One can only hope people have their phone cameras ready whenever that happens.
