Rasheed Walker Offers Dumbest Reason Why Bears Beat Green Bay

-

The Chicago Bears ended their drought against the Green Bay Packers last season with a last-second victory at Lambeau Field. It was a cathartic moment for everybody involved. The Bears had not beaten their arch rivals since 2018, constantly tortured by some of the most unreal meltdowns in recent memory. For the first time, it felt like this team stood toe-to-toe with the Packers, looked them in the eye, and didn’t blink. It felt like the beginning of something new. The Bears are no longer intimidated by Green Bay’s aura. One person doesn’t believe any of that. Left tackle Rasheed Walker was quick to downplay the idea.

On NFL Network, he unequivocally stated that Chicago’s victory was nothing more than a fluke. They got lucky. All the jabs from Caleb Williams are being filed away and memorized for the next time the two teams meet. Green Bay will make sure to remind everybody who the superior team is. It was an interesting stance to take. After all, it’s not like that game was an isolated incident. If not for a monumental stroke of luck in the form of a blocked field goal, the Packers would’ve lost to the Bears twice.

But sure, let’s not talk about that.

Rasheed Walker won’t admit anything through words.

Since joining the Packers, he’s been used to one reality: dominating the Bears. It is his way of life: crushing the Bears, making the playoffs, and competing for a Super Bowl. It’s a time-honored tradition in Green Bay. Unfortunately, traditions tend not to last, especially in professional sports. People often forget that Chicago owned the rivalry in the 1940s and ’50s, along with most of the ’70s and ’80s. It wasn’t until 1992 that things finally began to shift. There is no law against the pendulum swinging the other way. Suddenly, it feels like the Bears have the more talented quarterback and more gifted play caller as the head coach.

Rasheed Walker enjoyed that advantage for years. Can he really believe the Packers will maintain dominance with both of them gone? Feels kind of naive.
