Potential Breakout Season Ahead for Bears’ Cornerback?

-

During Thursday’s practice, Bears Cornerback Kyler Gordon had an outstanding performance. According to Adam Hoge’s report, he dominated a practice session on his own. He recorded an interception, a tackle for a loss, and a sack, all while playing in the nickel position. As a second-year player, he appears to be ready to take that leap. Yet, what really caught my attention was his “Spider-Man” celebration after his interception in practice. It’s possibly one of the most creative celebrations I’ve seen, rivaling the popular “griddy” touchdown celebration that’s performed around the league.

As I highlighted in my tweet, picture the atmosphere at Soldier Field if Kyler were to showcase this celebration during the first week against Jordan Love. The energy would be electric and I simply need this to become a reality.

Kyler Gordon Is The Future

The Bears’ secondary is clearly improving and is set to become the strength of this defense. While Kyler had a challenging rookie season, he displayed moments of brilliance, especially towards the end of the last season. He appears to have gained a better grasp of the game’s pace, and I’m ready to see what he has in store for his sophomore campaign. His potential is just starting to emerge. The dance at the end of the clip between Brisker and Gordon is also great to see. These two players, both from the same draft class, love playing for each other. Their friendship and chemistry is exactly what this locker-room needs and I can’t wait to see it grow over the next few seasons.
