It’s actually interesting to gauge where people stand on the upcoming Nick Foles vs. Mitch Trubisky battle. Head coach Matt Nagy has said from the start that the competition will be fair. The Chicago Bears won’t play favorites. Both men will get equal reps in training camp and plenty of time in the preseason to state their cases. This is meant to make sure they pick the right guy.

Thus far fans and media seem split on who will win. Plenty of people think Trubisky will get one more shot to prove he can still be the guy. Coaches will be looking for consistency and a keen understanding of how to adjust to defenses and make the right reads. In this instance, one has to think Foles has the inside track given the success he’s had in it before. At the same time, the COVID-19 pandemic has helped Trubisky since he has established connections with the current receivers. Something Foles can’t get until practices actually begin.

So it’s true. There is no clear cut leader right now. Each man has their advantages and disadvantages. It will come down to what happens over the next three months if and when the practice fields finally reopen. One can imagine both quarterback will bring their best to the table.
