Nick Foles has yet to permanently plant himself in the Chicago area. Not because he hasn’t wanted to but because of the travel restrictions brought about by COVID-19. With a sizable family to look after, he’s been forced to bide his time down in Florida obsessing over the playbook. Meanwhile, Mitch Trubisky has taken full advantage of being already in place, practicing with teammates regularly.

That said, there was no way Foles didn’t have arrangements in motion to buy himself a new house. Indeed this was proven to be the case. According to a source, the veteran quarterback will settle his family in the northern suburb of Glencoe. The house is described as somewhat basic but quite nice. Perfect for a humble family man like the 31-year old is known to be.

There’s just one problem though. The address isn’t exactly on the most ideal street. The name? Old Green Bay Road.

Superstitious Bears fans won’t like Nick Foles landing there

Now people don’t usually let superstition drive their thoughts in football. For Bears fans though, that changes when the Packers become involved. That team has haunted Chicago for close to 30 years now. One thing they’ve been especially great at is exposing every quarterback the Bears have tried to flaunt as a true franchise guy. Erik Kramer? Rex Grossman? Jay Cutler? Mitch Trubisky? All have failed the test.

It’s hoped that maybe Foles can be different. So to see him settle himself on Old Green Bay Road? It’s hard not to see that is an unfavorable omen. Sure it might be much ado about nothing, but history says otherwise. It will be interesting to see if and when the quarterback gets his first crack at the green and gold this season.

Foles hasn’t played the Packers since 2015. It did…not go well. He finished 11-of-30 for 141 yards, 1 TD, and four interceptions. So yeah.
