New Story Just Destroyed Myth Caleb Williams Is A Bad Teammate

-

Three months ago, people were taken off guard when USC crushed Louisville 42-28 in the Holiday Bowl. During the action, one player was heard shouting while running off the field, “We’re finally a team.” What made it interesting at the time was that this was the one game quarterback Caleb Williams didn’t play. It led to speculation that he might not be well-liked in the locker room, feeding the idea of him being a diva focused on his own personal achievement rather than the team. As always, waiting and seeing if the truth matches the rumors is important.

In this case, it wasn’t even close. Brett Kollmann is one of the top football analysts on YouTube and host of the Bootleg Football Podcast. He made quite a shocking revelation about that game, and it had to do with a momentous decision by Williams—apparently, the presumptive #1 overall pick planned to play in the game. However, rumors swirled that several QBs were hoping to transfer in after he left. Miller Moss, his backup for the past two years, had actually been with the program since 2021. Williams decided to sit the game out and let him go after the starting job.

Moss threw six touchdown passes.

It’s easy to see why Caleb Williams is beloved on that campus.

Chicago reportedly met with his teammates on multiple occasions, including a dinner event before his pro day on March 20th. The responses they got back were overwhelmingly positive. Finding anybody with a cross thing to say about him was hard. This serves as a good reminder to never let the media dictate what to think about a player. Let his reported actions tell the story. Nothing has ever indicated Williams is anything but a good quarterback and a solid teammate. The celebrity status is merely something he’s learned to cultivate for his personal aspirations beyond football. He never brought it into the locker room.

Subscribe to the BFR podcast and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.

In other words, he’s acting like a professional despite still being in college. There is nothing wrong with that. Caleb Williams is ready for the NFL, both on and off the field. It appears he has said and done everything the Bears have wanted to see and hear. Every meeting has gone well. He looked sharp at his pro day. A private visit is looming next month. Everything points to him becoming their pick at #1 overall. Based on stories like this, it’s easy to see why the organization feels he’s the guy.

Dr Steve,
I could see it now.
“Durr durr, you meatballs stop shooting those dolts durr durr over there! Durr durr!” And some more incoherent nonsense. Finally, peace throughout the land!

So one story breaks the day after the bowl game and I believe there’s a sound bite out there? Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. Then there’s this story which you would 100% think would have come out the week preceding the game yet comes out 3 months later. Sorry, I’m not that naive. Not that I think Caleb Williams is a bad teammate but my money says this is Bull Sh*t media damage control. And I am fully aware that this is the focus for Bears news for the next 5 weeks but can we please limit… Read more »

I have yet to hear anyone from the Bears organization pro-claim Caleb Williams is the definitive pick in the upcoming 24 Draft. Until I do, I will keep listening to Smoke on the Water……..
