The Chicago Bears snapped their six-game losing streak on Sunday with a 36-7 victory of the Houston Texans. One of the main contributors in Chicago’s win was quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, who passed for 267 yards, had a completion percentage of 72.3, and threw three touchdown passes. Trubisky has led a Bears offense that has averaged 30 points in their last three games, and if he finishes the season strong, he will be a starter in 2021 somewhere in the NFL.

Remaining Schedule Favors Trubisky
Trubisky will have a great chance to finish the season strong as the Bears’ final three games are against defenses that have struggled. Chicago’s next game will be against the Vikings in Minnesota, where the Vikings’ pass defense has been one of the worst in the league. Their pass defense ranks 25th and has allowed an average of 243 passing yards in their last three games.
#Vikings defense has allowed 141 yards on 14 plays so far in the 1st quarter.

Following the Vikings, the Bears will travel to Jacksonville to take on Jaguars, where the Jaguars have only one win. Jacksonville also has the fourth-worst pass defense in the league as they have given up an average of 249 passing yards in their last four games. Furthermore, the Jaguars could be resting starters for the game if there is a chance they could clinch the first overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.

6) Panthers (4-9)
7) Falcons (4-9)
8) Dolphins [via HOU] (4-9)
9) Eagles (4-8-1)
10) Giants (5-8)
11) Lions (5-8)

Chicago’s last game will be against the Green Bay Packers, who may be resting their starters for a different reason. The Packers currently are the best team in the NFC and could have the top seed in the NFC clinched by their week 17 game. With nothing to play for, Green Bay could rest most, if not all, their starters for the game, giving Trubisky a better chance to perform.
Several Teams Will Be Interested In Trubisky
If Trubisky performs well in his final three games, He will make himself one of the more intriguing free-agent quarterbacks this upcoming offseason. Teams that could sign the former North Carolina quarterback could be the New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, and the San Francisco 49ers. Saints quarterback Drew Brees could retire after this season, leaving them with quarterbacks Taysom Hill or Jameis Winston. Trubisky could be the next quarterback that Saints head coach Sean Payton wants to work with, given the Saints’ record of signing previous cast-off quarterbacks in Winston and Teddy Bridgewater.
Another team that will have a quarterback need this offseason with be the New England Patriots, given their issues with Cam Newton. Newton has thrown five touchdowns along with ten interceptions and has been benched in two games this season. Head coach Bill Belichick and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels could look at Trubisky as a solution as the team’s draft position will not be high enough to draft a talented quarterback prospect.
Jarrett Stidham is in at QB for the #Patriots. Cam Newton out.

The 49ers and head coach Kyle Shanahan could target Trubisky as the Bears’ quarterback would be an ideal fit for his offensive scheme. Although the 49ers have quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo signed to a long-term, expensive deal, they could look to move on from Garoppolo given his extensive injury history the last three seasons. With two seasons left on his contract, the 49ers could part ways to save money and bring Trubisky on as an affordable backup.
At least it seems the @ChicagoBears are starting to use Trubisky the right way more and more. Moving the pocket/play action/keepers…but most of the success recently is tied to playing the Lions and Houston. Houston’s defense is atrocious

The Bears Could Bring Trubisky Back For Another Season
Given the Bears’ draft positioning if they continue to win this along with the potential free-agent quarterbacks, Trubisky could be a viable option as a starter in 2021. Depending on his performance in the team’s remaining three games, the franchise could justify bringing their quarterback back on a one-year prove-it deal or even on the franchise tag. If the team makes the playoffs or if general manager Ryan Pace is retained, there is a good chance Trubisky is brought back as the starter for next season.
Mitchell Trubisky should have never been benched.

Many within the Bears’ organization have spoken about changes seen in Trubisky since his week 12 return. Although the franchise may be more inclined to bring their quarterback back, a hot-streak along with a playoff run would be the only way to convince the fan base to re-sign him.
Things could get interesting in Chicago👀@heykayadams thinks @Mtrubisky10 can shake things up for the @ChicagoBears.

All of this is contingent on how Trubisky performs in his final three starts of this season. One or two wins that feature multiple touchdown passes and a high completion percentage could make him a sought after quarterback if he reaches free agency. For a fan base that has been eager to cast Trubisky off, he could very well end up being a welcomed addition and starter for another NFL team come 2021.
