For months Chicago Bears fans have tried to find a quality Mitch Trubisky nickname. Thus far there have been some decent ones. “Mr. Biscuit” is the one he inherited from college. “Truthbisky” is another that came from analysts at NFL Network. Other have settled for the far simpler “Tru.” Still none of them have quite had the true zing required of a quarterback.
Well that search has come to an end. Trubisky is now the starter for the Bears and it seems teammates now feel free to discuss what he’s been like behind the scenes. Particularly on the practice field. Turns out according to John Mullin of CSN Chicago who got the quote that should set the nickname in stone. Who was the man to deliver it? None other than Leonard Floyd, the Bears’ first round pick of last year.
“You can call him ‘The Pretty Boy Assassin.’”
Oh wow. That’s just…….that’s magnificent. It sounds like Floyd is trying to maintain his dignity as a defensive player while showing admiration for his teammate at the same time. Yet the best was still to come when he elaborated on what he meant.
