Leonard Floyd has endured a lot this year. He’s been hearing it from every angle about how he’s not doing enough to help his team win. Most of that is centered around the fact he’s now gone half the season without a sack. It’s still a problem. To be fair his pressures have improved and his run defense remains strong, but he gets paid to put the quarterback on the ground. His new teammate Khalil Mack knows that.
The superstar has undoubtedly seen the things said on social media about Floyd over the past few weeks as he’s recuperated from an ankle injury. So when the embattled outside linebacker delivered what was in all likelihood the knockout blow with a pick-six touchdown in the second quarter to make the game 21-0, one can imagine there was a great sense of relief.
As great as Floyd felt in that moment, it seems Mack was even giddier than he was.
Khalil Mack proving he’s both a great teammate…and healthy
That video is encouraging for two things. It proves how loyal and dedicated a teammate Mack is. He’s not playing but is still finding ways to motivate and support. Then there’s the fact that he was jumping up and down like that. One would surmise from it that the ankle Mack has rested for the past two weeks looks awfully healthy. The timing couldn’t be better.

Assuming he plays next week, the Bears pass rush would be at full strength just in time for their first division game since week one. It comes against a Detroit Lions team that finished Sunday by allowing Matthew Stafford to get sacked 10 times. Now they have to turn around and face a recharged Bears defense with their best player set to return both healthy and hungry. Certainly gives one a boost of optimism about what’s to come.
