Anybody who has followed the NFL for the past couple of years has heard the name Jalen Ramsey. Often for one of two reasons. Either being one of the best cover cornerbacks in the league. A truly elite athlete who can match up with any wide receiver in the business. Or because of his mouth. If people looked up the term “trash talker” in the dictionary, his picture would be close by. Nobody has developed a reputation faster for shooting his mouth off than Ramsey and Sunday night in L.A. was another example.
He was mic’d up for the Rams on the evening (because of course he was) and there was no shortage of talking. He was doing it all night long. There were plenty of notable lines including his disbelief that Mitch Trubisky had the temerity to even look his direction. However, his most cutthroat moment came when he had a line for Chicago Bears receiver Taylor Gabriel and his noted shorter size.

It’s hard to know for sure whether Ramsey was saying stuff like that all night. One has to wonder if it might’ve affected Gabriel because the receiver had not one but two dropped passes over the course of the evening. Drops that went a long way towards killing offensive drives that could’ve resulted in points. It was another in a long line of frustrating games for him. Ramsey’s words probably didn’t help his self-confidence, which was probably why the cornerback was saying them in the first place.
