Ineffective Coaching Leads To Mounting Losses

-

With a record this year of 2-7, it is easy to point fingers. Injuries have taken a toll in the first half of the season. The offensive line was most affected. The planned first-string unit has never been on the field simultaneously through nine games.

The defensive backfield has also seen more than its fair share of injuries. Tremaine Edmunds is now out with a knee injury as well.

When the Bears designated Josh Blackwell, Khalil Herbert, and Equanimeous St. Brown for return from the injured list, the Bears have now used all eight allotted slots to move players from IR back to the active roster. Any player placed on the injured list now will be lost for the remainder of the season.

The roster in 2022 was severely lacking in talent but started the season with three wins in their first seven games. Then they lost their last 10 games. There was hope the infusion of talent via free agency and the draft would make this team at least competitive. That hasn’t been the case. They were humiliated in lopsided losses to Green Bay and Kansas City.

In week four, it appeared the Bears would finally break what had become a 13-game losing streak, only to see a 28-7 lead vanish in a home loss to Denver. Finally, the Bears notched their first victory on a Thursday night in Washington. Justin Fields had thrown for more than 600 yards and EIGHT touchdowns in those two games.

What has been a constant this season is terrible coaching on both sides of the ball. Ineffective game plans continue to plague this team.
