Grady Jarrett Already Sees Big Things Ahead For Shemar Turner

-

The Chicago Bears turned heads when they signed Grady Jarrett in free agency. Part of it was the amount of money they gave him. Many felt his production last year didn’t reflect the sizable contract he received. However, GM Ryan Poles and head coach Ben Johnson weren’t signing him strictly for his accomplishments on the stat sheet. They, along with defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, felt the Bears’ defense needed a jolt of leadership and energy. Jarrett provided both in abundance for the Atlanta Falcons over the past decade.

Chicago hopes he can greatly influence the array of younger guys they’ve assembled, like Gervon Dexter and new arrival Shemar Turner. The Texas A&M arrived in the 2nd round last month. Poles believes he has a unique array of skills that can make him a really good player. Never mind his reputation for violence and aggressiveness. Jarrett has had some time to meet with Turner and see him in action during private and team drills. Needless to say, the veteran is impressed.

“He’s quick, strong and comes from a really good program that plays some really good football in the SEC,” Jarrett said. “He’ll be ready to go when it’s time to go. Me just being able to be in the position, whether it’s leadership or to inspire somebody else … to be in the same room with him after speaking with him and him telling me he watched me in college trying to study the NFL, to me, that means a lot. I don’t take it lightly.”

Turner can become a bigger version of Grady Jarrett.

The two-time Pro Bowler didn’t arrive with much fanfare in 2015 as a 5th round pick. He was undersized, which limited the types of schemes he could fit. However, his mix of power and quickness would make him a great addition somewhere, which he eventually proved. Turner has more height, length, and the same amount of power and quickness. Getting the chance to learn from Grady Jarrett is a massive opportunity. He can master the intricacies of playing inside, which he didn’t always have a handle on during his time in college. Most felt he was more comfortable at edge. If he can make the switch, there is no doubt the young man has menace written all over him. Especially if he’s willing to learn.

Lambert, can’t somebody block non-football remarks??????
Mockery USED TO BE A GREAT PLACE TO SHARE YOUR FOOTBALL VIEWS.
But with all these stupid fake income opportunity posts overrunning the site, it’s becoming the last place I want to spend any time.
I’d rather watch a YouTube video on the Bears where I don’t have to deal with all this noise and spam!!!
