For all those people continue to further the ridiculous narrative that Chicago Bears ownership is racist, this should pretty much be the death blow. Team chairman George McCaskey already delivered a strong message in a recent team announcement calling for change after the killing of George Floyd. Some say his was stronger than any owner in the NFL. Well, he decided to take it to the next leve.
Working with former Bear and renowned philanthropist Sam Acho, McCaskey participated in a powerful video. One where the two men kept sharing single words that helped describe the present situation the country is in. From fear to liberty to justice. There were so many that rang true. The last one though they said together.
Love.
Acho made it clear that the only way this racial divide in America can ever end is not with endless hate. It’s with love. That is the only way forward.

George McCaskey has done more than any other Chicago owner
McCaskey has always tried to embrace a culture where the Bears are a family. They try to look out for each other. When your own players play well? Reward them. When those players are trying to fight for something they believe in, support them. Not every owner in the NFL or professional sports for that matter will do this. Especially not to the extent that the Bears chairman has.
He stepped up to the plate and that is going to resonate in the locker room. Far more than people realize. If Bears players know the owner has their back, then they’ll be able to move forward without fear. They will also play hard for him. That is what families are supposed to do. Support each other with love. It’s a great message. One too few people forget these days.
