The Chicago Bears are scheduled to open the season in Detroit about 34 days from now. The biggest question heading into that game is which quarterback will be under center. Will Mitch Trubisky get one more shot to show he’s the guy or will the proven veteran in Nick Foles get the nod in-game one? It’s a decision the Bears coaching staff will soon have to make. With training camp officially under-way, there is no escaping questions about this QB battle if you are a current Bears player. Eddie Jackson can attest to this as he appeared on Good Morning Football early Monday morning where he was asked specifically about Mitch Trubisky and the QB Battle with Nick Foles.

“He’s more focused. He knows what’s ahead for him. I’m excited to see what’s at stake for these guys when we head out to the field this week.”

Trubisky seems to be doing everything right

If there is one reoccurring word that Bears players, coaches, etc. are using to describe Trubisky it’s this:

Focused.

As he should be right? I mean his career with the Bears is on the ropes here. They wouldn’t have brought in Foles if they 100% believed Mitch could turn it around. However, Trubisky has no doubt worked his tail off this off-season. His shoulder is stronger than ever. Ryan Pace even went on record a few weeks back, stating Mitch arrived at Halas Hall noticeably bigger and stronger. So it’s obvious number 10 wants to be the guy. He’s put in the necessary work.

Unfortunately, the quarterback position is a lot more than just working hard and saying the right things. The only way we’ll know if Trubisky’s hardwork will pay off is if it translates to the field as that’s always been the main issue with Mitch. Hopefully, it does as this would be the best outcome for the Bears moving forward.
