DJ Moore Reveals The Ideal Coach He Wants

-

The Bears have been a complete disaster. After firing head coach Matt Eberflus two weeks ago, they have went on to lose their next two games, extending their current losing streak to eight straight.

Since Ryan Poles took over as the Bears general manager, the team has endured two of the longest losing streaks in franchise history:

  • 14 straight losses in 2022
  • 8 straight losses (and counting) in 2024

The team is currently in the middle of a coaching transition, but the interim head coach, Thomas Brown, appears unlikely to earn the permanent role. While Brown may get another head coaching opportunity elsewhere, it’s safe to say it won’t be in Chicago. To be fair, the team’s struggles aren’t entirely his fault.

When asked about the next head coach for the Bears, wide receiver DJ Moore made it clear which type of coach he believes the team needs moving forward.

“An offensive minded coach would take it to the next level. But whoever comes in there has just gotta lead the men in the locker room.”

Will the Bears listen to DJ Moore?

The Bears are expected to consider player input at the end of the season, but ultimately, they must prioritize what’s best for Caleb Williams. The leading candidate for head coach appears to be Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, whose offensive approach aligns well with the team’s needs.

If betting on it, Johnson seems like the frontrunner. However, other offensive-minded coaches, like Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady, could emerge as dark horse candidates. Former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is also generating buzz. While Vrabel is known as a “leader of men,” as DJ Moore hinted, his defensive background may not align with the team’s preference for an offensive-minded coach.

Where will the Bears turn in their coaching search? It’s uncertain. Nobody truly knows. There’s even speculation that GM Ryan Poles might not lead the search and the Bears might relieve him of his duties. Regardless of who makes the decision, this will be a pivotal hire for Chicago, and they can’t afford to get it wrong.
