Details On Chicago Bears Fans Officially Returning To Training Camp

-

Fans have eagerly awaited news on whether they would be allowed to attend training camp this year for the Chicago Bears. Something that wasn’t permitted in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions. At last, news finally emerged. The team will allow fans to watch practices this year. However, things will be considerably different from how they were down in Bourbonnais for the past several years.

Since practices will be held at Halas Hall and the parking there isn’t nearly as extensive? The number of fans allowed to attend will be much more restricted. Only 1,000 tickets will be available for each day and fans will be chosen by random drawing. While this might disappoint many, it’s at least an effort by the team to get fans re-engaged. Tickets will remain free and parking is provided by Hawthorne Mall with free shuttles to the field.

“The team announced Wednesday that a limited number of fans will be able to attend 14 practices during the 2021 Dr Pepper Zero Sugar Chicago Bears Training Camp at Halas Hall from July 29-Aug. 25. All practices will require a free ticket for entry. Approximately 1,000 tickets will be available each day.

Registration to enter the drawing for the opportunity to receive free tickets will open at noon (CT) Thursday, July 8, and close at noon (CT) Thursday, July 15, at ChicagoBears.com/camp. Fans will be able to register for the chance to win up to four tickets and will only be eligible to receive tickets for one day of training camp. Recipients of tickets will be randomly selected and notified the week of July 19.”

For those wondering, the joint practices between the Bears and Miami Dolphins will be closed to the public. The first practice to allow fans will take place on July 29th. All practices will take place in the morning between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. It isn’t clear yet when the first padded practice will take place. Something a lot of fans are anxious to see. Either way, this is good news and a reminder that things are getting closer to normal.

There will be plenty of things to sort through. Of course, it starts with the quarterback situation, particularly Justin Fields. Then there is the development of left tackle Teven Jenkins, the big battles at wide receiver and cornerback. There will be plenty to keep fans entertained.
