Chicago Bears Second Pick In Round One Is A Fascinating Dilemma

-

The long wait is almost over. There are only six days remaining until the 2024 NFL Draft arrives. With the clear choice of Caleb Williams set at the top of the NFL Draft, the story for Chicago fans falls to what Ryan Poles will do after selecting Williams. A new target for Poles surfaces almost daily. The Chicago Bears are on the brink of something special in 2024.

We know most of the top players Poles may target: Odunze, Nabers, Verse, Turner, and Latu just for starters.

Poles has repeatedly stated he is happy with the draft capital, but many believe his intention is to trade back from the 9th pick to grab one or two additional day-2 picks. There certainly is that opportunity, but many believe it best to select a blue-chip player with their 9th pick in round one.

What Chicago does with their second pick in the first round has been a hot topic the entire off-season. Depending on the analyst, rumors have tied the following players to the Bears. *In no particular order.

Subscribe to the BFR podcast and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.

  • Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT, Penn State
  • Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame
  • Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State
  • Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama
  • Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
  • Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
  • Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State
  • Byron Murphy II, DL, Texas
  • Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA
  • JC Latham, OT, Alabama

With every player mentioned above tied to the Bears in various mock drafts, the opportunity for Pole to add draft capital for day two is a real possibility.

For most of us, April 25th can’t get here soon enough.

The dilemma is whether it will be interior OL or DL. Hopefully, with a trade back.

I can’t even read this article because of the pop up ads covering the article that won’t close. Looks like a car in Nascar.
