Chicago Bears Players React To Keenan Allen Trade

-

The NFL was taken by surprise Thursday night as news broke of the Chicago Bears acquiring superstar wide receiver Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers in exchange for a 4th round pick. The trade has garnered widespread national praise and generated excitement overnight in Chicago. The pairing of Allen with DJ Moore is surreal to think about, as this duo could be one of the league’s best next season. It is rare that not only fans embraced the move, but the media has also praised it. However, perhaps the most intriguing response has come from within the Bears locker room. Starting with DJ Moore, who expressed his feelings about the trade with just three emojis, other players like Jaylon Johnson, DeMarcus Walker, Jaquan Brisker, and new safety Kevin Byard have also weighed in, reflecting on the team’s big trade.

The Bears players are clearly hyped. This move shows that the Bears are aiming to make some real noise next season, regardless of who is playing quarterback. With more additions to the offense, expectations should rise as the front office strategically builds the roster.

@mberaest, appreciate the correction. Now that the picture is a lot clearer, it’s on to the draft, and see what kind of manuvering Poles can do to complete this years roster.

@blockwood9, the Bears didn’t give up that 5th rounder for Byars, they gave it up for Bates. Byars was a straight up free agent signing. I wasn’t high on giving up the pick for Bates but they were high enough on him to try to sign him 2 years ago so I’ll hold out judgement especially since I put a LOT more emphasis on the O-line than many in the comment section. I also don’t expect them to extend Allen for big money so that could be a reach. I’ve been a big fan of his talent though so hopefully… Read more »

Just wondering, what happened to building through the draft. I think this can immediately help a young QB, but with one year left, I am sure he he will want an extension. Bears still need a 3tech, that probably won’t be found in this draft, an actual starting center, not depth pieces and an upgrade at left tackle, and oh, probably another edge rusher. In a vacuum I like it, but big picture, not sure why poles can’t manage to sign impact free agents ands needs to spend draft capital to get players in the door then still extend. That… Read more »

Poles is in position to still make some major moves via FA, draft, and trade to fill team needs. Giving up a 2nd round pick to secure Sweat last year, a 5th round pick this year for a two time Pro Bowl safety, and 4th round pick this year for a 6 time Pro Bowl receiver will bring immediate results, as he prepares to make a run for the playoffs this upcoming season. Poles ability to take advantage of other teams financial cap issues, shows just how shrewd and calculated Poles has been so far in filling team needs, without… Read more »

Yep David, seen he had 58% inside and 42% outside. Feels like we would be going for more of a slot if it’s the 3rd round. But if it’s 1-9? Definitely outside. I would love Odunze or Nabers if they are at 1-9, but I just don’t feel Poles values WR that high for that slot. Could most definitely be wrong, and hope I am.
