Chicago Bears Kickoff Day 3 Of Draft With An Athletic Freak

-

It was only a matter of time before the Chicago Bears threw a curveball in the 2025 draft that fans weren’t ready for. That came in the 4th round. After trading down in the 4th round, they secured Maryland linebacker Ruben Hyppolite with the 132nd pick. He is far from a household name among draft fans, so what gives? The short answer is the kid is a physical freak of nature. Despite being almost 240 lbs, he has 4.39 speed. He covers so much ground and couples it with solid instincts and a good feel in coverage. That makes him a great fit for Dennis Allen’s defense.

Many people won’t like the pick because he wasn’t ranked high on media boards and wasn’t invited to the scouting combine. However, his tape shows a player with tons of athletic traits, good instincts, and leadership qualities. One could also argue he played out of position as a middle linebacker in college. He will be a much better fit on the outside. Whatever the case, Allen has a sharp eye for linebackers. This was one of those picks where the Bears trusted him.

The Chicago Bears needed to address the linebacker position at some point.

Depth had become a concern after Jack Sanborn was allowed to leave in free agency. Their primary depth options going into the draft were Amen Ogbongbemiga, Carl Jones, and Noah Sewell. Not exactly an explosive group. Hyppolite changes that. He should be an immediate presence on special teams with a chance to grow into a starting role within a year or two. Fans probably preferred a running back or edge rusher at that spot, which is fair. Still, linebackers have an important role in Allen’s defense. If he felt Hyppolite could be a contributor in his system, there is no choice but to trust the process.

Bears needed a freak LB rather than a quality RB? And you think that was my HC Ben’s choice? Dolts. Fools. Poles wanted his Swift to have another uncontested year!

Overdrafted this guy by a long shot. Most had him as an UDFA and Poles drafts him in the 4th round.

I’ve made $84,000 so far this month working online and I’m a full time student. I’m using an online business opportunity I heard about and I’ve made such great money. It’s really user friendly and I’m just so happy that I found out about it. The potential with this is endless.

Here’s what I do. . . . . . WORK44.COM

As for this draft, people were set on what their ideas were that the Bears would draft. We saw the 50 Lambert articles claiming to know some inner circle workings of who the Bears are targeting. Any of them turn out to be remotely true? No, this is how drafts work. The people with knowledge all said this is a deep draft without deep elite talents. You should be able to find quality players throughout this draft. There was no Ashton Jeanty trades, and while they had opportunity to draft RB all day today, they waited until their last pick.… Read more »

@sam, you need a little perspective on your history lesson with the trade to move up one spot to get Mitch. Lynch was openly shopping the # 2 pick to any team in need of a QB. Multiple teams called for that pick. Pace got it by overpaying certainly, but he was dead set on Mitch. For whatever reasons, only draft experts have, after the 2016Bowl season ended, Mitch was talked up as the best prospect. Then came the combine and he looked the part. He was white, so he had to be smarter with high football IQ than Watson… Read more »
