Caleb Williams Is Already Having Fun With Bears Fans On Twitter

-

There are less than 12 days left before the NFL draft arrives. The Chicago Bears are wrapping up whatever work they have left. Barring anything unexpected, their board should be set. The first thing to get out of the way is the #1 pick, which has become all but a formality at this point. Everybody on the planet believes the Bears will take quarterback Caleb Williams. He is the only team he’s had a private visit with. He is the only quarterback they’ve had a private with. The only uncertainty is how long it will take before GM Ryan Poles calls it in.

Even Williams himself hasn’t bothered keeping things mysterious. He’s already begun freely interacting with Bears fans on Twitter. One enterprising community member made a video of how he and every fan envision Williams walking to the stage once the pick is in. The quarterback got a big laugh out of it.

The good vibes kept going. About an hour later, Williams announced that he planned to show up in a suit that is sure to be unforgettable in the annals of NFL draft history. The same goes for his girlfriend, Valery Orellana, and her dress.

Caleb Williams isn’t letting the hype overwhelm him.

That, more than anything, is a welcome sign. He understands this is a once-in-a-lifetime moment for him, and he plans to enjoy it. This is something far too many other draft prospects over the years didn’t bother learning. They either sit in the green room all nervous or don’t even show up to the event at all, preferring to stay home. Williams isn’t about that life. He’s been working non-stop since he was ten years old for this moment. He damn sure plans to soak it up as much as he can.

When people talk about personality, Caleb Williams seems to have it. While Justin Fields and Mitch Trubisky were great kids, neither of them seemed prepared for the spotlight Chicago brought. Williams has no such issues. He grew up in a big city (Washington D.C.) and has been under the media microscope since high school. The fact that he thrived at USC in that giant Los Angeles media market is another sign that he was ready for this opportunity. Poles thinks he can finally change the Bears’ fortunes. If he does, people will look back on these interactions as something to be cherished.

Somebody with press credentials needs to ask Caleb who he’s endorsing for president this November.

At least he isn’t kneeling during a song or smoking marijuana.

I call first dibs on being his b/u dancer. Sorry F-ers, I called it.
.And I call “all time shotgun” when riding with Caleb to games, as well as video shoots.

Now who is playing Chess vs Checkers?
