There may not be a player on the Chicago Bears roster who is harder to read than wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. It’s almost impossible to tell what he’s feeling or thinking. Such is the nature of his somewhat reserved personality. That is why experts and fans have grown frustrated. They just can’t figure out what his personal goals are.
Of course the obvious one is to win. Jeffery, like every other player on that roster is not happy about finishing 3-13. Keep in mind he arrived at the tail end of the Lovie Smith era when the team was still competing for division titles. He’s one of the few left on the roster who understands what that feels like.
The puzzling part is just what Alshon wants from a personal standpoint. Is it money he’s after? Does he wish to stay in Chicago or leave and join a current contender? The questions keep coming but he’s never provided a clear answer. That may have just changed following the end of the season finale.
