Alarming Development Emerges Out of Bears Training Camp

-

The Bears have completed day 7 of their training camp, marking the second day with pads on. However, there’s a concerning development: guard Nate Davis, who has had a rocky start in Chicago, participated fully in all training camp practices until Saturday. On Saturday’s padded practice, Davis didn’t take part in team drills, though he was present with his helmet on. Instead, the Bears tried Ryan Bates at guard and Coleman Shelton at center. Davis also skipped 1-on-1 drills but rejoined the offensive linemen afterward and was seen on the sidelines with the trainers.

The Bears’ offensive line has been a major concern, with several false starts (7 unofficially on Saturday alone) and constant pressure on almost every snap. While it’s still early in the camp, the defense seems to be well ahead of the offense, a recurring theme in many Bears’ training camps. Despite the offense’s efforts, the first two days of padded practice have highlighted the gap between the two units. The situation with Nate Davis only adds to the uncertainty surrounding the offensive line.

Update from Matt Eberflus on Nate Davis

After Saturday’s practice, Matt Eberflus spoke to the media and mentioned that Nate Davis has a strain he’s dealing with. The team is being very cautious with this type of injury. Davis is currently listed as day-to-day.
