Jaylon Johnson Revealed His Stat Goals For 2025 And They Are BOLD

-

The Chicago Bears hope their list of new additions to the roster from the past few months are enough to push the team over the hump into playoff contention. However, it can’t just be them. The Bears will need significant contributions from names already on the roster. That includes established stars like Jaylon Johnson. He has been one of their best players for the past few years, establishing himself among the NFL’s four or five premier cornerbacks. How he does this comes from natural ability and hard work.

It is also about setting goals.

Johnson has always said he wants to line up across from every opponent’s best wide receiver. That is the only way to measure how good he is. Another way he goes about it is by setting lofty goals each year for himself. The 2025 season might be his most ambitious yet. Johnson appeared on Speak Live with Joy Taylor, Keyshawn Johnson, and Paul Pierce. He laid out the numbers when asked about his expectations for this year.

  • 7 interceptions
  • 3 forced fumbles
  • 3 return touchdowns
  • No games allowed 50 yards or more
  • No TDs allowed

Jaylon Johnson is aiming to rank among the Bears’ all-time greats.

In the franchise’s long history, only 16 players have reached seven interceptions in a season. Only two have cracked the elusive three return touchdowns: Charles Tillman in 2012 and Eddie Jackson in 2018. That is pretty elite company for Jaylon Johnson to shoot for. If he achieves it, there is no question the cornerback will establish himself as one of the best defensive backs the Bears have ever produced. The timing would certainly be fortuitous. Chicago needs a big year from him if they’re going to take on the stacked NFC North. He is certainly motivated. Johnson has been the most vocal about being tired of losing. The best way to show this is by dominating on the field.
