DJ Moore Reveals Bears Decision on Addressing Tyrique Stevenson’s Antics

-

The Chicago Bears broke their fans’ hearts yet again with a last-second Hail Mary loss on national TV. But things got even worse when a fan video surfaced showing Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson taunting the crowd just as the play started.

This distracted him, causing him to be late to the play and accidentally tip the pass right into the hands of an unchecked Commanders receiver. The entire optics look brutal, and Stevenson quickly issued an apology after the video went viral.

However, Bears wide receiver DJ Moore shared on 670 The Score that the team captains plan to address the incident in front of the team, as an apology alone isn’t enough.

“The captains were talking about how we need to address that … we’ve got to address it as a leadership group in front of the team”

DJ Moore then showed empathy for Tyrique Stevenson, who lost focus during the crucial hail mary play.

“That one play doesn’t define him as a player.”

In the end, Stevenson will carry the consequences of this for a while. Will he be benched? I doubt it. The Bears are already without Kyler Gordon, and while Stevenson struggles with composure and maturity at times, he’s still a very talented cornerback. It’ll be interesting to see how the Bears handle any potential discipline for Stevenson moving forward. However, the public ridicule and humiliation on social media, combined with internal accountability before the entire team and staff, might just be enough of a punishment within itself.
