DeMarcus Walker’s Hilarious Reason These New Bears Won’t Fear Green Bay

-

People love to blame Aaron Rodgers for the Chicago Bears’ inability to beat the Green Bay Packers for over a decade. The truth is much of it has to do with the Bears not being a good team most of that time, but a lot of it is also psychological. It always felt like several players were in their own heads every time they played the Packers. Even when the Bears played well, there would always be an ill-timed mistake that swung the game away from them. Some guys just seemed intimidated by Green Bay and the aura of Rodgers. DeMarcus Walker isn’t having any of that.

The new arrival to their defensive line is known for being outspoken. Walker knows about the Packers’ history of success. He hears the stories about Chicago’s inability to beat them. He doesn’t care. Beating them isn’t rocket science. In fact, it wouldn’t have mattered to him if Rodgers was still there.

“Honestly, you know, I beat Aaron Rodgers last year. It makes no difference for me. It’s going out there and doing it for the city of Chicago, doing it for my teammates because obviously it’s been long overdue, so being blessed and having a good opportunity to come out there and showcase what we’ve got going on.”

He is correct. His Tennessee Titans soundly beat Green Bay last year 27-17. They shut down the Packers’ running game and didn’t allow many big plays by Rodgers through the air. It was a solid team effort, and it’s not like the Titans were great. They finished 7-10 last season.

DeMarcus Walker isn’t alone in this feeling.

Fellow new arrival Tremaine Edmunds likely has the same thought. His Buffalo Bills also beat the Packers 27-17 last season. This came despite Green Bay having a stronger offensive performance in almost every category. Yet the Bills made the big plays when needed. It isn’t about jinxes or anything of the sort. It is about the Bears having to carry themselves like a contender. That is how they got it done in 2018. They went in believing they would win rather than hoping they would win. It sounds like that mentality has returned.

Credit must go to DeMarcus Walker for bringing it back. He doesn’t care which team is lined up across from him. He intends to kick some a**. Bears fans are hungry to finally break the Packers drought. This might be the best opportunity they’ve had in many years. Rodgers is gone. Their receiving corps is young and banged up. It’s at home. Jordan Love has only started one game in his career. There are no excuses. Go win the game. Expect Walker, with all of that restless energy, to lead the charge.
