Bryant McFadden was never a star during his NFL career, but nobody can say he didn’t have success. He played seven seasons in the league, went to three Super Bowls, and hoisted two Lombardi trophies. Another key is he got to play with two Hall of Fame quarterbacks. Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh and Kurt Warner in Arizona. So his opinion on that position carries some weight. That is why his comments on the Nick Foles trade by Chicago were interesting.
He listed that move as his favorite of the 2020 offseason. The reason being he brings something the Bears haven’t had in a long time. Consistency at the quarterback position. While McFadden believes Trubisky will probably start this year, he’s confident that Foles will play at some point. When that happens, the team will start to perform a lot better.
Nick Foles is ready and eager for the challenge
Nobody took what happened in Jacksonville harder than Foles himself. Do people think he wanted to break his collarbone in his first game only to see a rookie capture the hearts of fans in his absence? Of course not. He never really had a chance to get going with the Jaguars before he was ushered out. One can imagine that stings the competitor inside him. Hence why he took a sizable cut to his salary in order to facilitate the trade to Chicago.
He wanted this challenge. He wants to show everybody that what happened down there isn’t who he is. Foles is 31-years old and now has that chip back on his shoulder. People have said for years that being a backup is where he belongs. He might be the best backup of all-time. The starting job just isn’t for him. Anybody who has played a sport would feel a burn in their gut hearing stuff like that.

Rest assured that Chicago is getting a fully committed Foles whenever training camp begins.
