Bears Reveal Some Unwelcome Anthony Miller News

-

Anthony Miller was just starting to play some of the best football of his career during the final months of 2019. He had 35 catches for 435 yards and two touchdowns in the last seven games. Unfortunately, that progress may have taken an unintended hit due to a misguided decision. The Chicago Bears chose to put Miller on kickoff return duties in the finale against the Vikings last Sunday with Cordarrelle Patterson dealing with a concussion. Miller was tackled to the ground and landed awkwardly on his left shoulder.

He quickly left the game and received treatment from trainers. He did not return. GM Ryan Pace has since revealed that injury was as bad as it looked. Miller will be forced to have shoulder surgery this offseason. The second time in his career that has happened to this particular shoulder. It’s not yet clear what this does to his status for training camp next July but history shows he may not quite be ready by that time. Another setback to his development at a time the Bears can’t afford it.
