Akiem Hicks Had a Smartass Reply to Packers’ Cadence on Sunday

-

The Chicago Bears didn’t just miss Akiem Hicks for his obvious talent and leadership. Fans also missed him for his incredible entertainment value. The guy is just so much fun to watch and he was doing his thing again on Sunday. While the game against the Green Bay Packers didn’t end as hoped with a 21-13 defeat. This didn’t stop Hicks from having fun throughout the contest. His first in over two months. One such moment popped up in the middle of the game.

Hicks was seen constantly jabbering with the Packers offensive line at times. In the middle of one Green Bay drive, Aaron Rodgers was heard calling out a cadence of “CLEVELAND, CLEVELAND!” There was a brief pause on the hot microphone before somebody from the Bears’ side shouted out, “It’s in Ohio.” Such a random, hilarious response that got plenty of buzz on Twitter.

Not long after the game ended it was all but confirmed by Bears guard Kyle Long that Hicks was the guy who spoke up. Another in a long list of ways he enjoys trash-talking the opposition.

Akiem Hicks plans to finish 2019 despite arm

Hicks was such a warrior on Sunday. It was apparent throughout the game that his left elbow was still in a lot of pain and the contact was making it hard to deal with. He left the field a number of times but kept coming back, refusing to abandon his team. One would think the Bears might plan to shut him down for the year now that the playoffs are no longer possible. Hicks though isn’t into that idea. He hopes to finish out the season and build some momentum up for next year.
