Tim Anderson Wants To Stay At Shortstop, But Also Wants To Win

-

In an interview with Scott Merkin today, Tim Anderson was asked about moving around positions and he didn’t seem to be so keen on the idea. This doesn’t come as much as a surprise considering Tim improved last year at shortstop.

Tim committed only 20 errors last season and a majority happened before the All-Star break.  After the break, Tim really hammered down and only committed 6 errors. For a young and upcoming player, that isn’t bad.

Though Tim has made great strides at the position we are talking about MANNY MACHADO! This is a move where Tim just has to move where the White Sox put him to keep this generational talent happy.

Tim does take a step back and says he will do whatever he has to do to win. Manny playing at third probably sounds a lot better to Tim considering he would have his spot in the infield still. With Yoan Moncada, Manny Machado, and possibly Nick Madrigal in 2020, Tim could be the odd man out.

Honestly, no one knows what’s going to happen. Tim could be the SS of the future. It isn’t guaranteed that Manny is coming to the South Side and at least Tim has made leaps in his game to ease the mind of Sox fans that he can hold down the spot.
