The Chicago Bears are fast becoming one of the favorite teams to watch in the NFL this year. It’s funny how winning games will do that. At 8-3 they are in command of the NFC North lead with five games to play. A big reason for that has been the emerging performances of some of their younger talent. Many of whom including Mitch Trubisky and Cody Parkey have won Player of the Week honors in the NFL.
People can add another one to the list. Eddie Jackson, the young safety taken from Alabama last year in the 4th round, has established himself as one of the biggest playmakers at his position in football. Just four days after putting the game away against Minnesota with a pick-six touchdown, he struck again in Detroit vs. the Lions.
So it shouldn’t surprise anybody that the NFL decided to award him Defensive Player of the Week honors, marking the third straight week a Bears player has won it.
Easy decision. Congrats @EJackson_4! #DaBears pic.twitter.com/wOBdlEgz9Q

Jackson’s efforts allowed the Bears to escape one of the toughest stretches any team will face in 2018. A span of 12 days in which they had to play three games against division rival. Chicago went 3-0 with their win in Detroit being their most impressive of the season. Jackson is now the talk of the league with many believing he could be in line as the best safety in pro football before too long. Considering he was the 112th player taken in his draft a year ago, that’s quite a bargain GM Ryan Pace got.
