The Chicago Bulls have been dragging their feet when it comes to addressing Jim Boylen and the head coaching position. However, according to Joe Cowley of the Sun Times, Boylen’s fate seems to already have been decided. In an interview on 670 The Score, Cowley gave a rather definitive answer in regards to the Bulls head coaching dilemma and ultimately the decision on Jim Boylen.

“From what I’m hearing, the decision is going to be they’re moving on from Jim Boylen and the coaching staff. I think it’s not if. I think it’s how to go about it. How can we do the exit strategy of this? Their decision is made.”

This decision shouldn’t surprise anyone

Unless you’re Jim Boylen, this decision by the Bulls shouldn’t shock you. With the front office overhaul, the likelihood of the new regime wanting to keep the current coaching staff was always an unrealistic move. The fans, players, and the media will rejoice with this decision as many are more than fed up with Boylen and his antics. Although this decision was always bound to be the outcome, it still worried many Bulls fans as weeks went on and Boylen remained the Bulls head coach. With that in mind, the time of uncertainty is finally over. Conversations about who the Bulls replacement will be, can now begin if they haven’t already. At this point, whomever the Bulls choose as Boylen’s successor will no doubt be a much needed upgrade.
