PointsBet: Can The Well-Rested Bulls Cover Against A Fluctuating Nuggets Team?

-

After clinching a winning record in February, the team’s first since 2017, the Chicago Bulls are heading into March with an opportunity to finish at the .500 mark by the all-star break.

Monday night, the 15-17 will host the 18-15 Denver Nuggets at the United Center. As it sits, both teams are top-10 in total offense and just out of the top-half in defensive ratings, both favor Denver. In other words, resume aside, both of these teams are similar in terms of overall skill.

The key thing to watch in the game will be how the Bulls handle Denver’s size and versatility at the power forward and center positions.

Three Bets To Consider In Bulls vs. Nuggets

Nikola Jokic To Record Triple-Double, Nuggets To Win (+425)

I know what you’re thinking here, and yes I agree it’s always risky to bet on a player to land a triple-double. However, based on the matchup, this is what you need to consider:

First off, the last time the Bulls played a center as good as Jokic was two weeks ago in Philadelphia. Joel Embiid put up 50 points and slaughtered the team’s interior defense because of their lack of size.

Second, Jokic has three triple-doubles, including one this last weekend against OKC. There is little question on the MVP candidate’s ability to have had 10 points and 10 rebounds. The only concern is to assist because as good as he is at moving the ball, the Bulls have been forcing more turnovers lately. This is a risky but fun play.

Zach LaVine Over 34.5 Total Points And Assists Combined (-120)

LaVine has emerged as the Bulls leader and remains their best player by a wide margin. There is no reason to bet against his scoring props until he shows you otherwise. Fresh off his first all-star nod, LaVine will get a crack at Jamal Murray. Both players have been shooting anything and everything lately so it should be a fun, back-and-forth matchup.

Denver To Cover 4.5 Point Spread (+100)

It’s not often you see the favorite with a positive line, but that just shows how impressive the Bulls have been. Unfortunately, due to their lack of size, it’s hard to see the Bulls being able to contain Porter Jr. and Jokic at the same time. Denver has had more success lately with those two playings together. Thaddeus Young has been fantastic, but he can only do so much.

One of the best parts about this season is that the Bulls refuse to be blown out by anyone, and I would expect the same Monday night.

This will be a fun, high-scoring affair, but it will come down to Jokic being the best player on the floor come to the end of the game. I will take the Nuggets to cover and win.
