Talk about busting out of a slump.
The Cubs entered Friday night’s game against the White Sox on a three-game losing streak in which they scored a total of three runs against the Pirates. They’ve been struggling all season long facing fastballs, but that wasn’t a problem on the south side in game one of the weekend series.
The first three were off Dylan Cease, as Kyle Schwarber, Willson Contreras and Javier Baez crushed his 97mph+ fastball for home runs.
Cubs with 4 home runs tonight.
The first 3 were on pitches of 97 mph or faster…
It's just the 2nd time since 2008 a team has hit 3 HR in a single game on pitches thrown 97 MPH or faster. (Clev, 2019)

Then, Victor Caratini joined the home run party in the sixth, hitting the team’s fourth long ball of the night and third opposite-field homer.
