Some Idiot Stole Pedro Strop’s Car And Then Got In A Police Chase

-

It was certainly an interesting day for Cubs closer Pedro Strop, as he was dealing with some idiot stealing his car and then getting involved in a police chase.

Strop told reporters following Wednesday’s 7-6 Cubs win over the Dodgers that his car was stolen and he was still talking with police about it during the game.

The Cubs were down 3-0 until the sixth inning, when Javier Báez tied the game with a three-run homer. After that the Cubs kept the line moving and Jason Heyward drilled a three-run bomb of his own to give the Cubs a 6-3 lead. The Cubs scored those six runs with two outs.

Anthony Rizzo later added a very important insurance run, hitting an RBI-double to right center that scored Kris Bryant from first base in the seventh.

It almost looked like Strop wouldn’t be needed, but Alex Verdugo hit a three-run homer off Steve Cishek with two outs in the eighth to cut the Cubs lead down to one.

Strop came in and walked Max Muncy, (even though he definitely swung on a called check swing) but was able to strikeout Kiké Hernandez and then Justin Turner grounded into a game-ending 5-4-3 double play.

Now, someone save Pedro’s car!
