The good news is that Albert Almora Jr. is no longer leading off and Anthony Rizzo is, but it’s only happening because Javier Báez has been scratched from the lineup.
Báez is apparently ill, probably saw video of the Cubs playing on the road, so David Bote is getting his second career start at shortstop. Almora is now batting ninth.
Ian Happ also gets back in, starting at second base with Bote shifting over to shortstop.
Not how fans wanted Almora to get kicked out of the leadoff spot.
