Jason Heyward Is One of The Hottest Cubs Hitters Again

-

The Cubs beat the Braves 8-3 Monday night at Wrigley Field, where Jason Heyward capped off the victory with his 11th home run of the season.

It’s only June 24, and Heyward has already matched his season high in home runs during his Cubs career.

Heyward also doubled earlier in the game.

After his third straight multi-hit game, Heyward is once again an above average hitter relative to the entire league, while posting a more than respectable .358 OBP and .441 slugging %.

And this isn’t just a hot couple weeks for Heyward because since he went 0-for-3 against the Nationals on May 18, he’s been on fire.

The following numbers were from his last 31 games coming into Monday night’s series opener against the Braves.

Heyward went from a slash line of .229/.331/.396, on May 18, to his current slash line of .268/.358/.441.

It’s been a great bounce back for Heyward, who had a .992 OPS in April and only a .618 OPS in May. Now, he’s one of the hottest hitters on the Cubs once again.
