Cubs Announcer Jim Deshaies Calls Kris Bryant’s Home Run

-

So, normally when these things happen it’s more of a half-assed prediction by a broadcaster. But no, not Jim Deshaies, who perfectly nailed his prediction of Kris Bryant’s two-run home run in the eighth inning of Monday’s 5-1 Cubs win.

Bryant’s been back from the DL since the start of September and although he’s not hitting for the huge power we’re used to, he has been hitting the ball harder during the last week or so. He just missed a home run against the Brewers at Wrigley Field a week ago, but on Monday he finally broke his home run drought and Jim Deshaies was all over it.

That was awesome.

Before that opposite field dinger, Bryant’s last home run came on July 20, against the Cardinals.

So far this month Bryant is slashing .320/.407/.480, with a home run, five RBIs, eight runs scored, five doubles and six walks. Looks like he’s feeling a lot better than the first time he came back from the DL in July.

So hey, JD, how about giving us some lottery numbers tonight.
