Charles Barkley Rips Into The Bulls On National Television

It’s no surprise that the Bulls haven’t gotten off to a great start this season. The team is sitting at 1-3 after getting their first win last night against the Washington Wizards. This Bulls team has drawn a lot of scrutinies since the season began and that continued last night on national television. Charles Barkley voiced his opinions on the Chicago Bulls during a national broadcast.

This wasn’t something that Barkley appeared to be open to debate. He said what he said and he meant it. This came after TNT showed highlights from the Bulls/Wizards game. The question remains if the Bulls are the “worst team in the NBA” then what are the Wizards?

Barkley doesn’t even know players on the team

The worst part about all of this is Barkley continued the discussion on the Bulls during Inside The NBA. He decided it would be fun to ask his co-hosts Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith to name five players on the Bulls roster. Barkley also continued to call center Wendell Carter Jr. by the wrong name throughout the entire rant.

It’s clear that Barkley is not a fan of this Chicago team and is completely unaware of who is even on the team. In case all of this wasn’t a bad enough look for this team on national television Barkley challenged himself in a game called “Who He Play For?” This is a game where current NBA players pop up on the screen and Barkley is asked who do they play for. Bulls guard Garrett Temple came up on the screen and of course, Barkley got it wrong.

Barkley didn’t do well in this game overall but again this is another blow to the Bulls dealt by Barkley.

Is Barkley right?

The Bulls absolutely got off to a rough start this year. But to call them the worst team in the NBA by a long shot is absurd. There are four teams in the NBA that haven’t even won a game yet. The Bulls should have won their game against the Golden State Warriors but we won’t talk about that. This team has a new head coach and is learning a brand new system. They are young and coming into form. With no true offseason program or extended preseason, this is all new to these guys. While they looked awful the first two games they have gotten better each game since. I completely disagree that the Bulls are the worst team in the league. They certainly aren’t at the top of the charts but they aren’t the worst.

Time to prove the critics wrong

The Bulls need to use statements like this as fuel in the future. They need to prove that they aren’t the “worst team” in the NBA. Hopefully, something like this can be used to light a fire under this team. They absolutely struggled to start the year but to call them the worst team in the league is an overreaction. This team will come into their own as we get into the season and will prove to everyone that they can be a fringe playoff team under the new regime. Give it a little more time Bulls fans.
