Vikings Fan Admits To Fearing Caleb Williams And New-Look Bears

-

The Chicago Bears have a long, tortured history on the offensive side of the ball. Since the start of the 1990s, they have fielded a top 10 unit only four times. Only once in the past 23 years. Bears fans have been through some rough times. There are plenty of reasons for this. Their coaching choices haven’t been the most inspiring. The offensive lines have underachieved, as have the wide receivers. However, everything comes back to the quarterbacks. Jim Miller? Rex Grossman? Kyle Orton? Mitch Trubisky? Justin Fields? It’s been primarily mediocre-to-bad at that position for a long time. Yet, there is a sense that things could finally be different with the arrival of Caleb Williams.

The former Heisman winner is lauded as one of the best quarterback prospects to come out of college in the past quarter century, rivaling Andrew Luck and Trevor Lawrence. He’s athletic, boasts a strong arm, throws with great accuracy, and has some of the best playmaking instincts the league has seen since Patrick Mahomes. Couple that with a wide receiver room that will feature D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen, and Rome Odunze, and it is hard not to feel optimistic about what is to come.

Even fans of the enemy are taking notice. Prominent Minnesota Vikings fan Paul Farrington admitted on his YouTube show that he’s feeling some misgivings. He’s worried the Bears may have finally figured it out.

Caleb Williams’ aura is a strong one.

Despite what many keep saying about his mercurial personality, no one has been able to dispute his talent. He carried a bum USC team to a 7-5 record last season. He had 30 touchdown passes despite his two best receivers being eventual 7th round picks. No #1 pick is ever a guarantee, but most of them have become at least good quarterbacks in the NFL. If that proves the case again here, the Bears are suddenly a team the NFC North can’t ignore anymore. Remember, this is an organization that has managed to make deep playoff runs with guys like Grossman, Steve Walsh, and Mike Tomzcak at quarterback.

Imagine what would happen if Caleb Williams reached the same level as Jordan Love and Jared Goff.

No wonder Vikings fans are getting nervous. The Bears have been a nuisance even without good quarterbacks for many years. With one, they could become the gatekeeper to any Super Bowl aspirations Minnesota and the rest of the NFC have. Williams is already working hard to prepare for the 2024 season. There won’t be any competition. He is the starter from day one. Chicago is 100% committed to him, for better or worse. It figures to be a fun ride.

As fun as it was to hear these die-hard Vikings fans express their fears and anxiety over this ‘new direction offense’ in Chicago, for me it is not breaking news, it has been the news of the 24 draft since the top 10 picks were competed! Selecting Caleb was a known fact, but taking Rome Odunze was more of game changer as most believed the Bear’s were going to take the best DE or DT at nine in a trade down. But, Ryan Poles showed his mettle when he then selected KA, a very under the radar but highly regarded… Read more »

Of course, these enemy fans should be extremely anxious about the new Bears offense because it has the potential to badly beat their teams by a considerable amount whether playing at home or away.
