The Latest Update In The Aaron Rodgers Soap Opera Is The Funniest

-

Aaron Rodgers loves hijacking the off-season media cycle. That is yet another character trait he shares with Brett Favre. People are left wondering what the future Hall of Famer will do. Will he return to Green Bay for another year? Will he retire? Or will he get traded? It is interesting to see how different opinions are this year compared to 2022. He isn’t coming off another MVP performance this time. His season was okay by usual standards but far below his own, and it was made worse by the Packers missing the playoffs. The last image everybody has of him is throwing that backbreaking interception against Detroit in the 4th quarter.

From the sound of things, his market isn’t anywhere close to what it would’ve been had the Packers traded him a year ago. While there are still teams interested in his services, the price to get him could end up being more modest than some expect. Part of it is his age (he turns 40 in December), part of it is his massive contract, and part is clear evidence of his declining ability. One NFL executive spoke to Mike Sando of The Athletic about the situation. When the idea of the Las Vegas Raiders, a hot destination based on media buzz, came up, he uttered one of the most hilarious statements one could imagine.

“Vegas would be fine for him,” the first exec said. “It just seems like a weird fit, Rodgers’ personality and Josh McDaniels. I think Josh would probably rather develop his own guy than have Rodgers, and I think he’d rather have (Jimmy) Garoppolo than Rodgers.”

That should tell you how bad it is getting for Aaron Rodgers.

A team is willing to go with Garoppolo because he’s a better scheme fit and less of a headache than a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. If this were five years ago, there is no way any team would consider such an absurdity. That should tell how far Rodgers has fallen in the past year. Teams aren’t sold on his ability to elevate a team anymore. He needs a team to elevate him. While that would be fine in many cases, his contract and growing reputation for being a distraction makes it less appetizing.

It is beyond fitting that this is where things have gone. Aaron Rodgers is in exactly the same place as Favre was 15 years ago in 2008. His powers are fading, and teams know it. They aren’t willing to court him like the golden goose he still thinks he is. The man is an aging emperor desperately clinging to his throne. While the Chicago Bears haven’t been able to beat him, it is a nice silver lining to watch him slowly decline. This latest development is a cherry on the sundae.

Hey Lambert, it can’t be OVERSTATED how much of a nerd loser you are. Also, I loved this part:

===”If this were five years ago, there is no way any team would consider such an absurdity. That should tell how far Rodgers has fallen in the past year.”===

So if this were FIVE years ago…this should tell you how far AR has fallen in the PAST year. Yeah, that makes no sense, geek.

Rodgers was a great QB but was and still is a punk and a jerk. Only a desperate team would overpay to get him and his prima donna act.
